About Us
The MOSA!C Lab is a multidisciplinary research laboratory led by Prof. Dr. Tarik Taleb,
bringing together researchers with complementary expertise in communications and networking, cloud and edge computing, artificial intelligence, software engineering, distributed and embedded systems, security, and automation.
The lab is associated with the Institute of Networked Energy-Efficient Systems at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Ruhr University Bochum.
MOSAIC Lab has its roots in the Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC) at the University of Oulu, where it operated from 2018 to 2023 and contributed to the
Oulu 6G Flagship, as well as in the School of Electrical Engineering at Aalto University, where it operated from 2014 to 2021.
Our philosophy is simple: joining efforts and expertise from different fields to conduct multidisciplinary research with impact on standards. We combine fundamental research with system architecture, implementation, prototyping, and experimental validation to develop intelligent, connected, secure, and sustainable technologies for future communication and computing systems.
A distinguishing characteristic of MOSAIC Lab is its strong hands-on research culture. We build testbeds, prototype new concepts, integrate open technologies, and validate research ideas in realistic environments. Our ambition is to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions while contributing to the technologies and standards that will shape future networks and intelligent systems.
We build. We test. We learn. We innovate.
